THREE 68,000 POUND GRINDERS
Being the best machinery movers in Charlotte, Knoxville, Charleston and Savannah – sometimes means not moving a thing. To be more specific, sometimes we’re just picking up oversize loads and machinery from the shipping ports, or by rail such as with intermodal and transloading jobs – and storing them until the customer is ready for them. This is very common with actions or when dealing with import export scenarios.
When looking for storage for oversize machinery, there are several primary concerns to consider. These photos were taken of three different Grinders that our client needed to store. Each one weighed 68,000 pounds.
The storage facility must have sufficient space to accommodate the dimensions of the oversize machinery. Consider the length, width, height, and weight of the equipment to ensure it can be safely stored. Additionally, check if the facility has appropriate access points such as large doors, ramps, or wide corridors for moving the machinery in and out.
Oversize machinery is often valuable and may be a target for theft. Look for a storage facility that provides adequate security measures, such as surveillance cameras, secure fencing, access control systems, and on-site security personnel. It’s also beneficial to inquire about insurance options for added protection. So, depending on the type of machinery, it may require specific environmental conditions to maintain its performance and longevity. Factors like temperature, humidity, ventilation, and protection against elements (e.g., dust, moisture) should be evaluated to ensure the storage facility can meet the necessary requirements.
Perhaps more than anything, safety is paramount when storing oversize machinery. Verify that the storage facility adheres to relevant safety standards and regulations, both in terms of general safety practices and any specific requirements related to the machinery being stored. This may involve fire safety precautions, hazardous material handling, and compliance with local regulations.
We offer short-term rentals or flexible contracts, while others specialize in long-term storage arrangements. Choose a facility that aligns with your intended storage duration. We have ample room to accommodate the dimensions of the machinery, both in terms of width, height, and length. If you have any special requirements, such as clearance height or door width, don’t worry. We’ll ensure your machinery can be safely stored.
